Letter sent to Chairmen Edward Whitfield (R-KY) and John Shimkus (R-IL), and Ranking Members Bobby Rush (D-IL) and Gene Green (D-TX), House Energy and Commerce Subcommittees on Energy and Power and Subcommittee Environment and Economy, supporting their investigations of the termination of the nuclear waste disposal program by the Department of Energy, and the Nuclear Regulatory Commission lack of compliance with its statutory mandate to resume the Yucca Mountain license application, July 8, 2011. Letter sent to Department of Secretary Chu stating that inasmuch the Department has cancelled the nuclear waste disposal program, the NWSC still holds the DOE accountable to issue on a regular basis a financial and budget report showing how the amount of NWF fees collected are being administered.
